I first my Eric and Ryan when I had a booth at an LGBT event show. We hit it off right away and I was excited to photograph their Detroit engagement photos. By the time their wedding rolled around it was like we were old friends.
Shooting a wedding at the Henry Ford Museum is an amazing experience. There is American history everywhere you go. Ryan and Eric got ready in the cottages nearby at the Dearborn Inn. They are quaint and classic old-school. They reminded me a lot of a bed and breakfast I once stayed at in New England.
Eric and Ryan's ceremony was in the beautiful theater, and their reception was in the museum itself. We were able to walk around and take pictures in front of the trains, cars, and other exhibits. It was so cool. And the best part? Their dance floor was under a vintage airplane. Check it out!
