Meadowbrook Mansion. What an amazing and beautiful place at which to get married. I was so excited to capture Miranda and Yang's wedding that I skipped an annual golf trip up north so that I could do it. It was the perfect classy, stately venue for this photogenic couple.
Miranda got ready at her own house and we had to be careful that Yang didn't see her. It was like a game and we had fun! Miranda's bedroom had some nice big windows so I was able to take the beautiful natural-light window portraits that I so love.
Meadowbrook Mansion is a wedding photographer's dream. There are so many options to be creative. I chose a position for their first look that highlighted the classic building in the background. Yang's expression just before he saw Miranda was priceless (check it out!).
Rain loved Miranda and Yang. Our first two engagement sessions were postponed because of rain, and on our third try, when we were at Stoney Creek Metropark, there was a light drizzle. (See their beautiful Stoney Creek Metropark engagement photos here.)
Rain wasn't in the forecast, but after the ceremony we were out on the grounds taking pictures with their bridal party when, again, the skies opened up. The light was gorgeous as we all huddled under a large gazebo while the rain came down in buckets. We hung out, relaxed, had fun, and took gorgeous pictures! While it wasn't what we had planned, we all had an amazing time.
We ended the day at Shangri-La, a Chinese restaurant where an incredible feast was served.
